Pups First 2 Weeks

Tikka and the pups have done wonderful. She is a great first time mom and she enjoys spending time with her pups. The pups are twice thier size and continue to change daily.

Photos: Group sleeps & Lineup to nurse.

Green collar sable boy is the darkest of the 4 sables and weighed 1 lb. 3 oz at birth. His coat is a bit longer than the other pups. Green collar eyes are now open slits and at 2 wks. of age he weighs 2 lb. 8 oz.

Right now Burgandy collar boy is the smallest and darkest of the males and weighed 15 oz. at birth. Burnandy boy also has slits for eyes and at 2 wks. of age weighs 2 lb. 10 oz.

Blue collar boy is one of the larger males. He was 15 oz. at birth. Blue collar has his eyes almost 1/2 open (one of the first ones and at 2 wks. weighs 2 lb. 11 0z

Yellow collar boy is also on the bigger size and weighed 1 lb. at birth Yellow boy is the largest at this point, weighing 3 lbs at 2 wks. His eyes are also almost open.

Pink collar girl is a nice size with a nice head. She was 15 oz. at birth Pink girl is getting bigger and bigger...she now weighs 2 lb. 11 oz

Blue collar boy is not quite as dark as his brother green collar but still rich in pigment. He was 1 lb at birth Blue collar boy is our smallest at this point, he weighs 2 lb. 4 oz. Will have to get him some special 1-1 on mom!!

Purple collar boy is simular in color to light blue collar. He has a very nice head! He weighed 15 oz. at birth. Purple boy also has slits for eyes and he now weighs 2 lb. 8 oz.

Red collar sable boy is also on the bigger side. He is the 'lightest' of the sables but still has great pigment. He was 1 lb at birth. Although red sable "looks" the biggest he now weighs 2 lb. 10 oz

Red Collar Black/Red Female: Still need to get a good picture of this girl. She was born by C-Section at the very end! She was 1 lb. at birth. Red girl now weighs 2 lb. 8 oz

2 to 4 Weeks

Photos: Partial Group photos, 2nd photo has Light Blue Sable boy looking at camera, bottom center.

Pups Eyes are now open and they are starting to interact with thier environment more. I am now finished with the neurological stimulation (done to day 14). As time goes on, you can see the pups are also much more interative with each other and with the people that they are exposed to. They are very alert pups who love to explore their environment......sometimes getting into a bit of trouble.

The pups have had NO problems sucking back thier meal for the first time!! They are now on solid food, enjoying their meals intensely!! Tikka is trying to wean them more but will still let them suck some milk from her on occasion.

Pink Collar Girl happily poses for a picture.

Pictured above is Light Blue Collar boy playing with a ball. I have had balls and other toys with the pups for several weeks now. They will seek out the balls and rags and play/bite them. Course, they are also using 'each other' as play toys!

Purple collar sable boy..FULL after a meal and Burgandy collar black/red boy relaxing after a full meal.

Royal Blue Collar and Yellow Collar, at 4 weeks.

The pups are also being socialized now with a variety of different people, ages and noise levels! As you can see Tikka is great with it all and also enjoys the extra attention! Tikka is really good with other people coming to visit. She will also allow the 2 older girl dogs around the pups but still keeps Riggs (border collie) and Aiko (male) in thier place.

5 to 7 Weeks

Well, these guys are maturing and starting to become much more active. They want to play more often and interact with each other on a differnt level. They are learning more about dominance and their pack order.

They are really catching on to the paper training and this has been helpful as the outside weather has been miserable!

Some of thier individual characteristics are showing up more and more.

Burgundy boy shown at left.
